About The George Harcourt Inn
The George Harcourt Inn
Gold Creek Rd , (Gold Creek Village, cnr Barton Hwy), Nicholls
Canberra, ACT, 2913
Australia

The George Harcourt Inn (opposite Cockington Green) was built in 1980 and named after a local landowner, George Harcourt. George was a bit of a lad in his time. He was a good businessman, a keen sportsman and, generally, an all round mans man and an Englishman to boot.
More recently, The George was taken over by a couple of Canberra folk and as a result, underwent a face lift that has recharged this cozy meeting place for years to come.
Your hosts Gil and Colleen offer the best of live music, great food and a cool kick-back atmosphere, giving The George a unique ambiance. This fine establishment has great appeal to those who dont want the *kachink* of pokies and the constant drone of TV screens in the background. The noise has been replaced with the sounds of cruising music as a background for good conversation and relaxation.
The George has brought back great live and local music every Thursday night, and throughout the next few months there will be international and local acts playing on some Saturday and Sunday evenings and nights. The George fosters an unplugged environment and a great atmosphere to enjoy a great meal or just some great live music. Check out our Whats On guide to see whats coming up!
Inside or outside, front or back, theres plenty of room to find your own groups niche or mix it with the guests. The demographic is diverse and colorful and always friendly and comfortable.
