The Chalk Hotel, located just 200 meters from the Gabba and now in its seventh year of operation, has made its mark on Brisbane. Home to one bistro, an ale carte restaurant, a cafe, eight bars, seven function areas and home to Brisbanes finest staff, Chalk is much more than a pub its an Entertainment Experience.

Not only is Chalk the perfect place to meet for after work drinks in Stumps Bar, you can also enjoy a wood-fired pizza or a steak in the beer garden, dine in our stylish, a-la-carte restaurant Sticks (relaunching in February), or perhaps grab a hot coffee or fresh juice on your way to work from Sticks Cafe. The renowned Dust, offers a spacious deck overlooking the city for you and your friends to enjoy a bottle of wine from our extensive menu. Platform Three is renowned for its cocktail list, dance floor and intimate balcony. The Chalk Hotel also offers TAB and pokie facilities. Their exclusive launch of The Cider Shack on Australia Day Eve is a mere example of The Chalk Hotels passion towards catering to everyones individual taste.

The Chalk Hotel, originally called the Railway Hotel, was constructed in 1889 for James Kelly and underwent extensive alterations in 1958 . In 1977 the Railway changed its name to the Recovery and then back to the Railway in the 1990s.

Given there is a Railway Hotel in almost every town in Australia, and based on their concept for the hotel renovation, they could not see how the name Railway would appeal to their new patrons or that it would be unique enough for such an amazing venue.

The Chalk Hotel is your hotel. With their reputation, consistency and passion alone, they will continue to cater to their communities needs and wants.
